What is AWANA?
Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15)
AWANA Clubs are open to boys and girls from 3-year-olds to 6th Graders.
The integral component of each club is the child’s handbook. The handbook contains Scripture memorization drills & Bible study activities that the children progress through weekly.
The Cubbies club advances as a group, each week working through one section which using the Total Time Teaching concept by which Bible verse, activities & theme reinforce a single lesson for the week.
The remaining clubs allow the children to advance through the hand book at an individual pace.
The weekly meetings is broken down into 3 segments. Handbook (Scripture memorization), Council Time (Bible lesson & music) and Game Time (team games).
Handbook Time is spent in a small group with a leader assigned to the group to explain and record progress though the handbook. The handbooks are designed as to to allow completion during the club year by completing one or two sections per week.
Children earn awards including uniform, patches, pins & AWANA bucks for accomplishments in the handbook.
AWANA bucks are spent at the AWANA Store.
