Sorry guys and gals for the long delay. At our August 19 all church meeting, it was voted to pursue the 937 Cooley building. The owner was out of town on business until 3 days ago. Since he returned home we have been discussing the need for handicap access to the sidewalk being constructed at the building, and getting cost bids. Today we began negotiating our actual lease details. Should this be worked out to the satisfaction of both parties, we will then sign the lease. Two weeks later (at most three) we should be able to move into our own […]

Here are three buildings to compare: 1078 Santo Antonio (Mt Vernon across from WalMart) 1023 S. Mt Vernon (South of old church location) 937 E. Cooley (Across from old church location) * These two locations have been removed from consideration at our August 19 church meeting.

Attention Church Family: We are now entering into the final stretch of our search for our “new digs” (and it can’t come any too soon!) If you would like input into our decision(s) I invite you to come preview one of our choices tomorrow, just before our worship service in Loma Linda. We will be meeting together at 1:00 pm to preview Suite #300 at 937 S. Via Lata in Colton (just minutes away from our most recent location).

Tomorrow, we will once again be meeting at Heritage Gardens Retirement Center in Loma Linda (25721 Barton Rd – corner of Barton and Benton) at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Last weekend our two “congregations” were introduced to each other for pretty much the first time. The Colton group enjoyed meeting the residents, and they in turn totally enjoyed our time together as well! If you at all can, please come and join us this weekend! Not only come to be blessed, but to bless others. What better kind of worship is there? (James 1:27) Pastor George

Yesterday we were presented with two new situations — Colton’s fire marshal sent me an email determining that his research showed that churches under 300 (I think we count) or with facilities smaller than 5,000 sqft do not meet the requirements for fire sprinklers! This has been slowing us immensely in our ongoing search as most South Colton buildings were built in the 1970s, before they were required for new construction. NOW we can begin looking in earnest! Heritage Bible Church has apparently entered into a 4th negotiation attempt with the previous landlord. Won’t know until after Sunday’s church vote, […]

7:15 am — I have calls into both principals and both building property managers, and have scheduled a site visit for the medical plaza. Updates to follow as I have them. 7:00 am — At this point, our only viable options seem to be these: Meet at the Community Center Meet at either Woodrow Wilson or Cooley Ranch school Meet at the building on Cooley Drive Meet at the building on Mt. Vernon (see earlier posts for descriptions) There are several “feelers” out to local Sunday churches (and 1 more just outside of Colton has also been suggested). But this […]

7:00 pm — Our host church announced that they were in one more negotiation to stay where they/we are (third attempt so far). The property manager seems to be receptive to their site modification requests and a proposed 3-year lease. We will see! 6:00 pm — Here are the choices we currently have … with accompanying pluses and minuses, and in no particular order: Meeting at Theaters Theaters make for very interesting church sites. People may be reluctant to visit a church, but they’ve visited the theater many times. Seating is already preset, and cleanup is automatically provided as well. […]
